🌱 Happy National Gardening Week! 🌿

June 04, 2023 - June 10, 2023

This National Gardening Week, let's celebrate the joy of gardening and its profound impact on our well-being. Gardening is more than just a hobby—it's a source of inspiration, tranquility, and growth.

In January, I moved from an apartment with a small balcony to a house with acres of property. The possibilities were endless for gardening! As I adjusted to my newfound space and creativity, I incorporated gardening time into my daily activities as a reprieve from the hectic day-to-day work demands, time commitments, and family obligations.

I’m a novice gardener but I’m learning more and more every day! Tips and suggestions are always welcomed. This summer I’m working toward sustainability and living off the land which includes blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, cucumbers, grapes, watermelons, peas, lettuces, tons of tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, collards, carrots, onions, garlic, peppers, herbs, and one (1) pineapple. I have a mini “orchard” which includes lemon, pear, apple, key lime, and cherry trees (It will be a few years before the trees start producing fruit and we are patiently waiting).

Join me in embracing the beauty of nature and the benefits of gardening:

🌻 Nurture your well-being: Gardening is a therapeutic activity that allows us to escape the stress of everyday life. It provides a peaceful retreat, connecting us with the natural world and promoting mindfulness.

🌱 Cultivate your creativity: The garden is a canvas for artistic expression. From designing beautiful landscapes to experimenting with colors and textures, gardening sparks our creativity and allows us to create living works of art.

🌿 Sow seeds of growth: Gardening teaches us patience, resilience, and the rewards of nurturing something from seed to harvest. It instills a sense of accomplishment and fuels personal growth as we witness the fruits of our labor.

🌺 Connect with nature: In an increasingly urbanized world, gardening offers an opportunity to reconnect with the earth. Digging in the soil, feeling the sun on our faces, and listening to the soothing sounds of nature revive our spirits and foster a deep sense of connection.

🌸 Share the joy: Gardening is not only a solitary pursuit; it's a wonderful way to connect with others. Whether you involve family, friends, on your community, sharing the joy of gardening creates lasting bonds and a sense

of togetherness.

Work + Gardening

We've all heard the proverb - "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", which sounds a tad bit creepy, but it always resonated with me. Continually working around the clock, can change you. You become the work, you live, breathe, and think of work 24/7 which isn't a healthy way to live. You have to build in time to do activities or hobbies that fuel your spirit. For me, that's gardening. What is your hobby?

Let's make this National Gardening Week a celebration of growth, beauty, and well-being. Join me in sowing the seeds of happiness and reaping the rewards of a flourishing garden. Check out the progress pictures!
